The gala and prize announcement at 5pm 22nd March, tickets $25 pp.This selector and judge for 2014 is Monique Redmond, senior lecturer in Art & Design at AUT University. Alexander Bartleet  2014 Waiheke Small Sculpture Prize Award Winner

On Saturday the 22nd of March Alexander Bartleet's artwork 'Line Cluster' was awarded the Small Sculpture Prize. The award was judged by Monique Redmond and is open at Waiheke Community Art Gallery until the 14th of April. Pop over to Waiheke and see the work and the other finalists.

Recent works from the new studio

 

Here is a sneak preview of some of my new work - I have been in production over the winter months and have managed to get quite a lot done. Probably something to do with my new workspace which is heaven after working on a small desk or kitchen table over the last few years!

 

 

 

 

 

I got my studio in February this year which is an old 3m x 6m builders construction shed - it's a bit on cosy side but full of natural light, fairly warm and can easily connected to power when I need it - pure luxury!!

This a national Award for an original free-standing or wall sculpture up to 450mm in any dimension with an award prize of $3000. The selector and judge this year is Matt Ellwood, Senior Lecturer, Whitecliffe College of Art & Design.
